How to clear your cache and delete your cookies in Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer

Almost everyone knows that within your Internet browser, a small amount of data will be collected and stored. This data is housed in two separate areas: cookies and your cache, both of which hold different types of data.
Sometimes these data stores become so full that they begin to slow down your Internet, or prevent you from performing certain actions, which is when you will need to clear your cookies and your cache.

Safari
Step 1. Click on the 'Safari' tab in your navigation bar and select 'Preferences'.

Step 2. Select the 'Privacy' tab in your Preference settings.

Step 3. If you want to know the details of the cookies your Safari has been collecting, click on 'Details' for an overview. You can selectively remove cookies within this setting.

Step 4. Click on 'Remove All Website Data' and then 'Remove Now' to clear your entire cache/cookies.

Firefox
Step 1. Click on the 'History' tab in your navigation bar and select 'Clear recent history'.

Step 2. Select which data options you would like to clear including the time period in which you want data to be erased.

Step 3. Click on 'Clear Now' to clear your selected data.

Step 2. You will be taken to a page with all your user settings, open up 'History' in the top left corner.
Step 3. Select 'Clear browsing data...'

Step 4. Make a selection of the type of data you would like to remove, as well as the time frame within which you want data removed.

Step 5. Click 'Clear browsing data'.

Internet Explorer

Windows Vista or Windows 7
Step 1. Click on the 'Start' button in the left hand corner of your screen and type 'inetcpl.cpl' in to the search box.

Step 3. This will open up the 'Delete Browsing History' dialogue box, where you can select which data you would like removed.

Step 4. Click 'Delete' for your selected data to be removed.
Windows XP
Step 1. Click on the 'Start' button, select 'Run...' and type 'inetcpl.cpl' in to the 'Open:' search box and click 'Ok'.

Step 2. Under the 'General' tab, click the 'Delete...' button.
